Opening Sequence Evaluations - Introduction
I have decided to present my evaluations in two different digital formats including a director's commentary for Question 1 and extracts from a film-related podcast for Questions 2, 3 and 4.
In my evaluations I will be answering the following questions:
Q1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups and issues?
I have chosen to present the answer to this question as a director's commentry because I will be discussing conventions of both opening sequences generally, and genre more specifically, and I want my audience to see those conventions on screen while I am discussing them.
Q2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
I have chosen to present this question as the first part of a film-related podcast that will focus on the work of up-and-coming young filmmakers. The response to a series of questions from the podcast host, Christine, will include textual analysis of my opening sequence in relation to the creation of meaning for my audience, plus consideration of who my audience might be in terms of age and gender, discussion of key decisions regarding film language and some thoughts about the release and distrubution patterns for 'Remember Me'. Part of distribution involves marketing, so I will consider the film's viral marketing campaign and what aspects that includes.
Q3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
This question will be presented as a continuation of the young filmmakers podcast and will revolve around discussion of the ways my production and editing skills developed throughout the process.
Q4. How did you intergrate technologies - software, hardware and online - in this project?
