Updated Outline of My Opening Sequence
In this post I will be writing a more detailed outline of my opening sequence.
Order of opening sequence:
- shows 2 pairs of slippers - close up shot
- different colour towels (blue and pink) - long/medium shot
- different products in bathroom - medium shot
- shows bed - medium/long shot
- man bed side table - close up shot
- woman bed side table - close up shot
- shows shoes (heels/trainers) - medium shot
- bowl with wallets and keys - close up shot
- shows her (Emma) in the bathroom doing some finishing touches (in a robe) - medium shot
- cuts to him (jack) in a suit fixing his hair in a mirror - medium shot
- back to her (Emma) in the mirror fixing her hair - medium shot
- back to jack who looks at watch to see time - medium shot
- close up of watch - close up shot
- then walks to the bottom of the stairs - medium shot
- goes to stairs and calls out (high shot)
Music softens.
Jack: "Em you nearly ready, were gonna be late for our reservation".
- cuts to Emma poking her head around the corner of the bathroom - medium shot
Emma: "Coming, just a minute".
Music gets louder again.
- close up of him taking out a box from his pocket
- close up of the box as he opens it
- looks at ring and smiles while taking deep breath - medium shot
- he looks up from the ring and looks up towards the stairs - medium shot
- looks back to ring as he looks at it and takes a deep breath - medium shot
- close up as the box goes in his pocket
- Emma comes down standing at the top of the stairs all dressed up - medium shot
- shot of him standing not facing the stairs as he turns around to see her - medium shot
- Emma walks down the stairs to meet him. - shot from behind jacks head
- shot from behind Emma as she meets him at the bottom of the stairs - high angle/ medium shot
- over the shoulder shot from Emma so we see jack as we kisses her hand
- over the shoulder shot from behind jack so we see Emma
Jack: "You look gorgeous".
- she smiles and looks very happy.
Emma: "You haven't cleaned up too bad" (teasing/banter way)
- side shot of them both as they laugh and smile.
Jack: "Come on, let's go". - nods his head towards the door.
- shot of them walking out from behind as he closes the door (their backs) - long/medium shot
- shows them outside the door as he just closed it (their fronts) - medium/long shot
- close up of Emma getting in the car
- Jack closes the door and walks around - medium/long shot
- another angle of him walking round and getting in - long/medium shot
- close up of Jack looking at Emma while driving
- close up of Emma looking at Jack while driving
Title comes on black screen.
