Choosing My Film Name - Focus Group

Here is a bar chart I've compiled after conducting a focus group at college, with all the possible names for my film.

As you can see, 'Remember Me' has the highest number of votes, which is why I have chosen it as my final title. This shows that it was the most popular option with my target audience, making it the most effective choice.

I think 'Remember Me' works well as a title because it links directly to the main storyline of my film, where the female character loses her memory after a car accident and the male character is trying to help her remember him. The title is short, simple, and easy to remember, which makes it more appealing to audiences and useful when marketing the film. The title also creates a sense of enigma, as it makes the audience question who needs to be remembered and why, encouraging them to want to watch the film.

Additionally the title fits well within the romantic comedy genre, as it focuses on love and relationships but also hints at emotional depth and conflict. Whilst the car crash could be seen as a narrative moment more typical of a romantic drama, it will be underplayed in terms of its seriousness in 'Remember Me', used instead as the narrative device of the obstacle, which the characters must overcome if they are to be together. Compared to the other options, it stands out as being more meaningful and relevant to the narrative. Overall choosing a title based on audience feedback ensures that my film is more likely to attract and engage viewers.
